Skills:
  • Great analytical skills. The right candidate will enjoy understanding complex problems and finding the root of the problem.
  • Ability to consider the wider context of an issue rather than always considering the short-term fix.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal. (Candidate will be required to communicate issues to their technical peers).
  • Good organizational skills and ability to run Team events.
  • Comfortable with the Linux environment
  • Good knowledge of AWS services with minimum 4 years of experience, including server-less and event based services.
  • Good understanding of resiliency and how it can be improved.
  • Comfortable configuring AWS infrastructure using Cloud Formation
  • Knowledge of AWS CDK (Python) or ability to configure infrastructure using CDK.
  • Ability to trace issues through AWS deployed resources, including inspecting and querying logs, as well as tracing requests through tools such as XRay
  • Have minimum 4 years of experience in software engineering including OOPS programming preferably in Python language.
  • Familiar with code repositories (Git) and deployment pipelines.
Experience:
  • Bachelor level degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 Years working experience in applicable role.
  • Experience working in AWS environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in 24/7 On-Call rotation
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis of incidents, including clearly documentation.
  • Make recommendations based on Root Cause Analysis to reduce the probability of the incident reoccurring.
  • Implement additional infrastructure in AWS to improve the observability of the application. This may include adding additional logs, metrics, alerts, and dashboards.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve resiliency.
  • Recommend and implement changes to alert thresholds to improve the observability.
  • Recommend and implement ways to enhance the traceability of issues from the client through to the back-end services
  • Write Play Books for existing and new alerts based on the applicable dashboards and logs, and historical incidents.
  • Generate weekly metrics reports summarizing Incidents and the Service Level Objective.
  • Organizing regular GameDay events including defining the testing scenarios
  • Operate existing processes to apply security patches to deployed infrastructure.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $101,200to $182,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
