SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS) - 411213

Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

The Simcenter Femap development team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer. For this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging and supporting the Femap core software including all areas of FEA Pre- and Post-Processing. You will be working with other Femap team members and stakeholders to identify and implement new technology to enhance Femap’s functionality and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products using languages such as C/C++, C#, python, etc.
  • Work on all areas of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Pre- and Post-Processing, including FEA solver support, meshing, UI/UX and other core parts of Femap’s workflows.
  • Drive product direction by defining, managing, and coding software to enhance user experience.
  • Collaborate with other software engineers and application engineers to build new features focused on surpassing customer expectations.
  • Ensure high quality on new feature projects throughout the development cycle.
  • Develop, build and maintain automation tools for quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Degreed Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or other related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) / Computer-aided Engineering (CAE) software such as Femap, Simcenter, Ansys, Nastran, HyperMesh, etc…
  • At least 10 years of experience developing in C, C++.
  • Windows UI & UX development with experience with UI Frameworks including MFC, WinUI. 
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and trouble shooting skills.
  • The ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment .
  • Strong Windows OS knowledge.
  • Self-starter - Quickly learn new technology and frameworks.
  • Documented experience developing test cases and test plans.
  • Experience working in agile methodologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
  • Graphics APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX or similar.
  • Experience in 3D rendering, shader optimization.
  • Experience with FE workflows for composite structures.
  • Aeroelastic analysis experience or knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
