We are currently seeking an EHS Professional to support the Country in fulfilling their responsibility in the area of occupational safety and environmental protection. 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensures that all applicable legal and Siemens internal requirements (Corporate, Business Unit) in the area of EHS are implemented and that a certifiable EHS Management System is maintained and effective. 
  • Provides support to the other Assigned Countries organizations as required. (E.g., Brazil)
  • Sets and implements Country EHS roadmap based on business strategy and Corporate / Business EHS roadmap. 
  • Guides and leads the Country in the planning, execution, ongoing analysis, and improvement of EHS-related measures. 
  • Verifies that legal requirements and the EHS Policies Frameworks have been fulfilled by all Company Units operating in the USA. 
  • Maintains and fosters close interaction with respective Countries' CEOs, Business Units EHS officer, and Global Health Management Manager and facilities operations teams and other counterparts as required. 
  • Serves as primary key contact for all EHS matters assigned within the area of the USA EHS responsibilities (See EHS Principles September 22, 2023). 
  • Collaborates with USA management team, other support functions and services, and all relevant interfaces globally to achieve the EHS policy objectives. 
  • Contributes to / supports/leads projects of Global EHS DI SW Roadmap. Adapts, promotes, and implements global EHS programs and initiatives and monitors their effectiveness. 
  • Ensures an adequate competence management and training system for EHS-related competencies within the country organization.
  • Ensures EHS Management System implementation and drives continuous improvement for the Country organization. 
  • Plans, implements, and follows up on the audit/assessment/inspections program (including certification audits where applicable). 
  • Participates in the Siemens Country Crisis Management Team.
  • Ensures that applicable statutory requirements are identified and accorded to. 
  • Ensures implementation of EHS-related risk management in processes, projects, and products. 
  • Ensures and controls EHS-related reporting as to local and Siemens requirements. 
  • Ensures adequate EHS-related communication with internal and external stakeholders and authorities. 
  • Monitor, assist, coach, assess, and develop the EHS communities whitin the USA
  • Conducts worksite assessments to identify and evaluate safety and health risk and compliance exposures. Develops and implements strategies to reduce or eliminate these risks and exposures. 
  • Conducts analyses of accidents and health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies. Prepares and maintains required documentation of incident reports, statistical analysis to drive continuous improvement process through Behavior Based Safety. 
  • Drives administrative and engineering controls to eliminate hazards in the facility to create a zero-incident workplace. 
  • Additionally, supports the physical security team by identifying deficiencies for improvement in high-security areas, security equipment, and security systems. This includes collaboration and support to the physical security team to ensure that all control measures are in place to ensure timely identification of corrective actions that need to be implemented.

Experience:

  • Advanced work experience in Environmental Protection, Health Management and Safety (EHS)
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration experience ideally within data center or large-scale engineering environments
  • Advanced knowledge of in country legislation and compliance (USA) is mandatory
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational psychology, behavioral safety and health management.

Education & Trainings:

  • At least bachelor’s degree, in a related occupational safety, health Administration and/or environmental protection field. Degree in technical education and/or EHS related / relevant fields and/or recognized certificates.
  • Member of one or more of the Professional Organizations in Occupational Safety Health and Environment undertaking a scheme of Continuous Professional Development
  • Expert level knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental management), ISO 45001 (Occupational health and safety management), management system and implementing / managing management system elements (i.e. ISO Lead Auditor Qualification). Knowledge of ISO 50001 (Energy management) is an advantage.
  • Evidenced training / expertise in the broader spectrum of USA EHS regulatory topics.

The salary range for this position is $65,400 to $117,700 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
