Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Fremont, CA is $206,315 - $236,300 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for internal and external products. Ensure the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Provide specialized knowledge and expertise to guide the team regarding complex product, solution, and problem resolution projects and tasks. Create, document, and execute software designs involving significant re-architecture of systems, and defining and coordinating implementation of wide-reaching impacts. Act as technical lead of major projects within one area of a product. Provide technical guidance and information to customers in regard to future upgrades and products. Influence the technical direction for developments to the product line per understanding of product capabilities and industry trends/customer needs. Promote innovation by introducing new technical knowledge related to Questasim Parallel Simulation solution. Utilize high-level technical expertise to perform in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. Provide problem resolution and technical leadership for the group. Work on QuestaSim's next-generation parallel simulation projects, which include, high performance computing, multi-core, multi-threading areas.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 96 months of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Verification through simulation concepts including chip hardware description languages such as VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog or mixed Language methodology; Working with operating system concepts including kernel programming; Working with single core and multi-core computer architecture and parallel computing models for multi-core programming; Software development using C; Compiler technology and design with lexical, syntax, and semantic analysis using context free grammar and technologies such as Lex and Yacc; Control flow & Data flow analysis/optimizations for Compilers; HDL Language Parsing Engine and data structure for supporting and debugging HDL designs. 60% telecommuting permitted within telecommuting distance
