At Siemens, everyone can positively impact millions of customers, and you will be called on to identify and realize these opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of platform services that support the launch and operation of diverse SaaS products.
- Drive architectural decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance across the platform ecosystem.
- Partner with product teams to identify and address platform needs, enabling faster time-to-market for new products.
- Develop robust APIs, backend systems, and tools to simplify and streamline product team workflows.
- Implement best practices for secure and efficient deployment of cloud-native services in environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ensure platform reliability and uptime through proactive performance optimization and monitoring.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to system-wide design discussions, providing input on platform strategies and roadmaps.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud-based systems and platforms.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering foundational services for large-scale, multi-tenant systems.
- Deep expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, NodeJS).
- Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in production environments.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including designing and deploying scalable services.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Experience with building secure, high-performance APIs and backend systems.
- Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their integration into platform services (eg. DynamoDB and PostgreSQL)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on system architecture and design.
- Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Knowledge of platform observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
