Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We're hiring a C++ Software Engineer to join our Automation & AI team based out of our Netherlands or Germany offices. We focus on workflow automation and feature-based machining which includes specialists from multiple regions across Europe, collaborating in a lean-agile environment.
At NX CAM, we are collaborating with international teams worldwide to create the next generation of machining solutions. To achieve this vision, we are developing both automated and semi-automated solutions that aid our customers in planning, programming, and verifying their NC programs. You'll make a difference by:
- Designing, developing, modifying, and maintaining NX CAM software.
- Conducting research, design, prototyping, and other exploratory activities.
- Creating and testing feature components as well as ensuring software quality through unit and system-level testing.
- Collaborating with and supporting the Product Owner in building and refining user stories and acceptance tests.
- Utilising paired programming and other practices for frequent code review.
- Maintaining continuous communication to set shared expectations and fostering a transparent and safe environment.
- Applying best practices in coding, design, and implementation to build high-quality components and solutions.
- Leveraging team expertise while sharing knowledge for the team’s future benefit.
Your success is grounded in:
- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
- Your exceptional C++ programming abilities paired with a solid understanding of advanced design principles and patterns, as well as object-oriented design techniques.
- Proficiency with Windows development environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice if you have:
- Worked in an Agile/Lean development environment.
- Exposure to CAM programming software, either as a developer or an end-user.
- Experience developing and implementing algorithms for rule-based and generative (AI) solutions.
- Machine learning expertise.
