Santa Clara, CaliforniaSiemens Digital Industries Software is driving transformation to enable a digital enterprise where engineering, manufacturing and electronics design meet tomorrow. Our solutions help companies of all sizes create and leverage digital twins that provide organizations with new insights, opportunities and levels of automation to drive innovation.
About the role
Description:
Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software.
Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively.
Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.
Title: Senior Principal Product Engineer for Manufacturing Physics Simulation
Join the pioneering Calibre R&D Team at Siemens EDA and take on a pivotal leadership role in advancing our semiconductor manufacturing physics simulation (MPS) platform. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with deep expertise in leading-edge semiconductor foundries, memory, and other specialty technology manufacturers.
In this critical position, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes, device physics, and cutting-edge simulation methodologies (e.g., TCAD, DTCO). You will guide the development of solutions that optimize product performance and enable pathfinding for future technologies.
About Us
The Calibre family of tools is the industry leader in EDA/CAD solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, enabling simulations and diagnostics from the transistor to the package level. As the semiconductor industry continues its rapid growth, there is a critical demand for high-fidelity modeling and high-throughput numerical simulations to support the production of stable, high-volume chips at advanced technology nodes.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with industry leaders and internal experts to develop groundbreaking semiconductor simulation tools. These solutions will accelerate semiconductor manufacturing and device performance studies at the most advanced nodes, including:
- Logic (2nm, 1.4nm, 1.0nm, 0.7nm and beyond)
- 3D NAND/DRAM
- 3DIC
- Specialty technologies (e.g., CIS, Power IC, Si photonics)
Our innovative solutions are designed to deliver significant performance gains over conventional approaches, crucial for supporting high-volume manufacturing and meeting the agile turnaround times our customers demand.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following education and experience:
Education & Background:
- PhD with 10+ years, or MS with 15+ years, of research and/or industry experience in leading-edge semiconductor companies.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Advanced logic nodes such as 5/4/3nm FinFETs or 2nm/16/14/12/10A NanoSheet FETs.
- Advanced DRAM or 3D NAND nodes.
- Advanced semiconductor process modules, including Selective Epitaxial Growth, Atomic Layer Etch/Deposition, plasma processes, etc.
- Emerging technologies such as 3D stacked FETs (CFETs), IGZO-based 3D DRAMs, Si photonics, etc.
- Proven knowledge and application of simulation methodologies (e.g., TCAD, DTCO) to solve complex, real-world problems.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex computational and physics-based challenges.
- Strong ability to accurately estimate software development tasks and consistently deliver high-quality results on schedule.
- A collaborative and open team mindset, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
