Join Siemens Digital Industries Software as Senior Director Revenue Recognition and lead a successful team that ensures compliance with our accounting standards and delivers crucial insights that influence strategic decisions across our leadership. You will provide guidance & oversight on revenue transactions and further advance scalable revenue accounting processes & systems in a fast-growing technology company.
The Senior Director Revenue Recognition reports to the Vice President of Accounting and heads a high-performing team that is organized in three groups responsible for technical accounting & deal review, revenue accounting & systems and transformation. We are a dynamic and collaborative accounting organization of 250+ colleagues that thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
What role will you play?
* Lead an experienced team of 3 managers and 15+ accounting experts coordinating the end-to-end revenue recognition process in compliance with IFRS 15 / ASC 606, including complex multi-element arrangements across Subscription, SaaS, Services, and Hardware offerings.
* Partner with product and business teams on new offerings, ensuring revenue recognition policies and processes align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
* Lead all aspects of our month-end, quarter end, and year end close processes for revenue and related metrics, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in our SAP ERP systems, account reconciliations, and reporting.
* Own the financial reporting and disclosures related to revenue, working closely with our external auditors to manage an efficient and effective audit process.
* Provide actionable insights to support key business initiatives by analyzing revenue trends and our financial metrics.
* As a member of a team that operates in a highly complex system and reporting landscape, drive continuous process improvement and lead ongoing automation and digitalization initiatives to increase scalability and efficiency.
* Play a key role in the design, testing, and roll-out of our new ERP system (SAP S/4HANA) and other finance and reporting tools, shaping next generation revenue processes.
Does this sound exciting? Our ideal candidate will…
* Have a minimum of 15 years of progressive work experience in a similar role, preferably a mix of software companies and public accounting.
* Bring extensive thought leadership in software revenue recognition, gained from industry roles or technical accounting advisory at a Big-4 public accounting firm.
* Have experience in leading and developing high-performing global teams (managers of teams) and managing complex cross-functional projects.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal foresight and executive presence, including written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to explain complex accounting topics and financial implications to senior leadership.
* Possess outstanding critical thinking skills with the capability to break down complex problems to resolve issues and develop systemic solutions.
* Bring advanced experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and experience supporting or leading large-scale system transformations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA).
* Have experience operating in high-growth or acquisitive software environments, navigating evolving offerings, diverse systems, and global complexity.
