Position Overview
The IC Verification Solutions (ICVS) Division is seeking a QA Test Engineer to join the QuestaSim Quality Assurance Team. QuestaSim is one of the leading high-performance, high-capacity simulators, offering a unified and advanced debugging environment for hardware designs. In this role, you'll gain exposure to advanced functional verification solutions for complex hardware designs while building a solid foundation in hardware design and verification environments. You'll work with a wide range of Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) and testbench specification languages, including Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, SystemC, SVA, UPF, and UVM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master the QuestaSim Simulator and develop a strong understanding of the underlying technology.
- Write, maintain, and execute product test and quality plans.
- Design, execute, and summarize test cases.
- Participate in various types of product testing, including integration testing, regression testing, license testing, installation testing, and GUI testing throughout the release lifecycle.
- Build and maintain test automation frameworks to eliminate manual testing effort and reduce testing turnaround time.
- Understand customer use cases and support the integration of customer designs into test environments.
- Perform product benchmarking and performance measurement activities to capture tool performance data across releases.
- Report, validate, and triage defects to identify root causes and determine their severity before communicating findings to R&D teams.
- Utilize code coverage techniques and tools to quantitatively assess product test coverage.
- Assist in the deployment and monitoring of qualification techniques such as static code analysis (linting), dynamic code analysis, and memory leak detection.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Excellent knowledge of digital and RTL design fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog) is required.
- Knowledge of UVM is a strong advantage.
- Solid knowledge of assertion specification languages such as PSL, SVA, or OVL is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, and Python, as well as Qt, is required.
- Familiarity with quality assurance concepts, software testing, testing strategies, test planning, and test automation tools.
- Knowledge of defect tracking systems, configuration management, and code profiling tools.
- Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share knowledge effectively with others.
