Siemens Digital Industries Software is driving transformation to enable a digital enterprise where engineering, manufacturing and electronics design meet tomorrow. Our solutions help companies of all sizes create and leverage digital twins that provide organizations with new insights, opportunities and levels of automation to drive innovation.
Hello World, We are hiring!
We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly changing world. We're looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future.
Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you'd make a great addition to our vibrant team.
Siemens Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Industries, is a leading global provider of software solutions to drive the digital transformation of industry, creating new opportunities for manufacturers to realize innovation.
About the role:
The Build and Dependency Management Engineer is a technical role within a global, multi-site DevOps organization. The BDM engineer owns the build lifecycle and dependency management for one or more software products, acting as a bridge between DevOps infrastructure and product development teams. This role exists because build and dependency management requires dedicated, specialized ownership that cannot be absorbed by general DevOps or product development roles alone.
What you'll be doing:
· Build System Ownership
Develop, maintain, and modernize product build systems (e.g., CMake, MSBuild, Bazel, or bespoke solutions)
Drive migration from legacy build tooling toward modern, maintainable solutions
Support and improve CI infrastructure (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
Maintain and configure CI-related software on build nodes (Windows and Linux)
· Dependency Management
Own the dependency lifecycle: acquisition, versioning, caching, and distribution of third-party and internal libraries
Collaborate on dependency orchestration tooling and services (e.g., Conan, Artifactory, or equivalent)
Support legal clearing and compliance workflows for third-party dependencies
· Compliance & Quality Tooling
Support and improve automation for compliance-related tooling: SAST, binary analysis, threat response analysis, and similar
Maintain product installers and packaging infrastructure
· Cross-Team Alignment
Collaborate with product development teams to understand build and dependency needs
Align with DevOps, platform, and product teams on ownership boundaries and best practices
Participate in stakeholder discussions to evaluate and improve build lifecycle processes
