Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. The R&D team is looking a summer interns to work as a Front-End Development Engineer.

The SSP is our formal internship programs at SIEMENS Software. You will be mentored by guides and work directly with costumers to create direct business impact and again invaluable professional experience!

The program is a 2 months summer internship in July/August 2026. There will be opportunity to learn and contribute in a variety of areas of the software development process, with emphasis on a number of achievable projects to both encourage your development and deliver something useful.

Qualifications:

  • 3rd and 4rth undergraduate students in Computer Engineering, Electronics/CS and Communications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of React.js and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and web development principles.
  • React: Comfortable with Hooks and functional components.
  • JavaScript/TypeScript: Solid understanding of ES6+ and type safety.
  • Electron: Familiarity with Main vs. Renderer processes, including the use of preload scripts and IPC (Inter-Process Communication) to securely bridge communication between the frontend and the native operating system.
  • Node.js: Basic knowledge of the fs and path modules.
  • Version Control: Experience using Git for collaboration.
  • Redux / State Management: Good understanding of Redux and state management concepts.
  • Figma: Have a good understanding of Figma basics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player and willing to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
