About the Role / Segment
Are you a passionate and experienced Software Quality and Automation Engineer with cloud testing experience ready to make a significant impact? We are seeking a talented individual to join our innovative team at Siemens. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of our software products, driving automation efforts, and contributing to a robust CI/CD pipeline within a dynamic, agile environment. Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
* Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive documented test cases for thorough product validation.
* Develop robust automated test cases using languages such as JavaScript, Bash, or Python.
* Create and maintain detailed test plans, overseeing their execution for successful product releases and cloud deployments.
* Drive proactive quality improvements by leveraging cloud logging and monitoring data for actionable insights.
* Ensure the continuous functionality, efficiency, and improvement of the product's CI/CD pipeline.
* Actively participate and contribute in various roles within a cross-functional Scrum team.
* Lead testing efforts, coordinating closely with multiple Scrum teams to ensure cohesive quality assurance across the product lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies and tools.
* In-depth knowledge of QA processes within software development.
* Basic understanding of the cloud architecture of different cloud providers.
* Solid understanding of cloud deployment models.
* Basic understanding of docker and containerization workflow
* Hands-on experience developing and maintaining product CI/CD pipelines for quality delivery.
* Proven experience working effectively in an Agile development model.
* Solid understanding of complex web application design principles.
* Proficiency with Linux Operating System.
* Excellent programming and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated experience with JavaScript and bash.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A quick learner with a proactive approach to new technologies and challenges.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with remote teams
* Ability to adhere to scheduled and team-agreed timelines
*
Required additions:
* Broader understanding of software development and QA processes, including proficiency in various scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, JavaScript, Terraform).
* Experience using the Playwright test framework; experience with the Avocado framework is a significant plus.
* Familiarity with tools to emulate cloud services like LocalStack
* Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly in an Agile context.
* Experience using GitLab CI/CD
* Education: BS Electrical/ Computer Engineering, Computer Science
* Preferred: MS Computer Engineering, Computer Science
* More than 8 years of experience in Software Testing and Automation with cloud testing experience
