Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

We're hiring a UI/Visual Designer to join our internal product design team and help develop clear, polished, and visually compelling experiences for our portfolio of commercial engineering software. You'll be part of a globally distributed UX team that brings together diverse expertise across engineering, graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, UX, and software development. Our dedicated UI and UX teams partner closely with engineering throughout the product lifecycle, helping build products from early concept through delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create polished 2D and 3D icons, pictograms, glyphs, and other UI artwork for commercial engineering software products
  • Translate technical, industrial, and engineering concepts into intuitive, visually clear interface elements
  • Apply established visual systems and art direction to produce consistent, high-quality design assets
  • Gather requirements from product teams and stakeholders to understand design needs, workflows, use cases, and constraints
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, QA testers, field teams, documentation writers, and other stakeholders across multiple internal teams
  • Present design rationale clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback thoughtfully

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Validated experience in visual design, UI design, illustration, 3D modeling, or a related field
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual craftsmanship, problem-solving, attention to detail, and relevant examples of iconography, interface design, and illustration
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma
  • Experience with Blender or a similar 3D modeling tool
  • Ability to present work clearly, gather requirements, and communicate optimally with multi-functional collaborators
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred:

  • Experience designing UI for desktop, web, or mobile applications
  • Background in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or another engineering-related discipline
  • Experience with CAD/CAE tools or workflows
  • Experience working with technical or engineering-focused products
  • Familiarity with UX design methods such as wireframing, prototyping, and feature-level interaction design

OUR BENEFITS & REWARDS

The primary locations for this opportunity are Spain, Romania, Belgium, and Italy. The applicable salary ranges for these locations are:

Spain: € 42.100 - € 67.100

Belgium: € 53.500 - € 96.300

Italy: € 41.600 - € 68.600

Romania: RON 145.300 - RON 276.000

This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
