At Siemens Digital Industries Software, our RapidMiner platform helps customers modernize analytics by running SAS language programs natively - without translation or third-party licenses - while seamlessly integrating Python, R, and SQL.
We are looking for a Software QA Engineer - Associate to join our Quality Center of Excellence and contribute to testing Altair SLC, a multi-OS data analytics product. In this role, you will work in a shift-left QA environment, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps to validate new functionality through exploratory testing and automation, and ensure high-quality releases in a fast-paced R&D setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform exploratory and functional testing in a multi-OS environment and convert scenarios into automated test cases.
* Design, review, and maintain clear, well-structured test cases with traceability to requirements.
* Build, execute, and analyze test suites, ensuring reliable regression coverage.
* Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and root-cause insights.
* Develop automated test cases, including scripted SAS tests with C++ wrappers, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and QA CoE partners (Automation, Security, Performance) to continuously improve quality.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* 1-3 years of experience in software QA/testing with exposure to both manual and automated testing.
* Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals and the SDLC/STLC in Agile environments.
* Working knowledge of programming/scripting (C++, Java, SQL) and IDEs such as Visual Studio or VS Code.
* Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and version control concepts (Git/GitLab).
* Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a shift-left, quality-first mindset.
