PRINCIPAL SOLUTION ARCHITECT - ADT FEDERAL & MARINE - 498480
Newport News, VASiemens Digital Industries Software is seeking an expert and highly motivated individual for a Principal Solution Architect position within our Aerospace, Defense, and Transportation (ADT) Federal & Marine Business Unit. As an ADT Principal Solution Architect, you will be a leading resource responsible for designing innovative software solutions using our Xcelerator portfolio to help our customers realize their digital future.
About the job:
As part of a Professional Services team, you will collaborate efficiently with Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, Account Teams, and other internal & external stakeholders to ensure the customer achieves their objectives. This position requires excellent interpersonal, technical, process improvement, and configuration and implementation skills.
As a Principal Architect resource, you will be responsible for the translation of business requirements into specific process-aligned designs for the Siemens DI Software Solution-based standard methodologies. In this role, you will collaborate effectively with customers to manage customer expectations and drive adoption by demonstrating the complete Siemens Delivery framework and how business process maturity can be achieved through the Xcelerator portfolio.
You will establish the technical integrity of the solution and ensure it remains aligned to requirements and value delivery throughout the project to achieve customer value. Your leadership will provide direction for process design, integration, and change activities, both internally and at customer sites, leveraging and curating relevant templates and best practices to deliver successful customer outcomes.
This role will primarily be self-managed and will determine solutions, methods, and procedures for assignments/projects. You will be asked to participate in the Architecture Community of Practice, which promotes adoption & best practices across projects and programs and ensures that knowledge and lessons learned are shared across project/program boundaries. Lastly, you will help identify and escalate product gaps and needs within the Xcelerator portfolio and collaborate with our product organization to execute long-term plans and ensure the successful realization of customer value.
Responsibilities:
* Understand and demonstrate how Siemens solutions will align and integrate with customers' initiatives, business drivers, value, and impact
* Analyze and translate business requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions that integrate across applications, systems, and platforms to achieve business objectives
* Bring industry-standard methodologies and templates for the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio elements delivered to provide customer value
* Lead the application of Solution Definition and Solution Enablement elements of the DI Deployment Framework on customer-facing projects
* Provide accurate and timely information and escalation to the project management team and leadership, collaborating on reporting project status, issues, risks, and benefits
* Establish, build, and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, technical peers, and product managers, and build new relationships through networking within the customer and other involved parties to support effective delivery
* Set and lead customers' expectations, demonstrating thought leadership to influence key contacts and recommend solutions effectively
* In conjunction with the senior project leadership and account team, apply customer management methods to support the successful adoption of a viable DI solution
* Be responsible for validation activities, including any required prototyping, with the customer to verify if the outstanding templated solution applies to the customer's environment, rationalize, and defend the selected solution to the customer, explaining why and how this solution will deliver the highest value to their business
* Outline process changes that will need to occur and assist the customer in driving Organizational Change supporting Digital Transformation.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably with a software engineering background or equivalent work experience.
* Multiple years designing Teamcenter or similar customer solutions
* Minimum of 3 years technical experience as a Solution Architect or similar Principal Architect role
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
* Experience in the technical leadership of large software implementation projects
* Experience using Agile principles in project execution
* Excellent presentation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present sophisticated issues to multi-level audiences and successfully communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external Customers and Stakeholders
* Demonstrated team leadership skills
* Location: Must permanently reside in the United States. The city is flexible, provided the candidate is willing to travel. Prefer candidate located near primary customer location: Newport News, VA, Pocasset, MA, Costa Mesa, CA, Seattle, WA
* Expected Travel requirements: 25%-50%
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
* Experience in Marine Design, Planning, or Manufacturing preferred
* Experience with Closed Loop Manufacturing Solutions with Teamcenter (PLM), Opcenter Execution Discrete (MOM), and ERP is also a plus
