Position Overview

As part of the Industry Strategy team, you'll ensure that automotive and transportation industry solutions are translated into actionable sales and marketing execution. Working with cross-functional teams across OEMs, tier-one and tier-two suppliers, and transportation solution providers, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that sales and marketing campaigns are aligned with automotive and transportation-specific growth strategies. You'll set the internal and external market perception of Siemens as a solution leader in automotive and transportation innovation. Your primary focus will be driving global and country-specific growth strategies for the automotive and transportation industry in support of each country's three-year integrated country plan, leveraging deep automotive and transportation expertise to accelerate market adoption and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Automotive & Transportation Industry Strategy & Growth Execution

  • Plan and execute scaling activities with country sales and automotive and transportation industry marketing teams; cultivate strong relationships and build an extended global team pod with key zone, country, and marketing leaders focused on automotive and transportation growth
  • Relentlessly help sales identify automotive and transportation-specific opportunities, including vehicle electrification, autonomous systems, supply chain optimization, and advanced manufacturing; leverage best practices and market dynamics to accelerate adoption
  • Together with the automotive and transportation industry marketing lead, drive the industry marketing and campaign plan based on automotive and transportation-specific strategy and competitive landscape
  • Define and execute territory and account planning activities with country sales and automotive and transportation industry marketing to maximize market penetration among OEMs and suppliers

Automotive & Transportation Customer Engagement & Market Leadership

  • Present to automotive and transportation customer CXOs and VPs to communicate and reinforce industry leadership messaging in vehicle design, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions
  • Support large, complex automotive and transportation customer engagements and drive adoption of Siemens solutions across key OEM and supplier accounts
  • Identify competitive tactics from automotive and transportation customer activity and share with global industry stakeholders to maintain competitive advantage
  • Be an active Digital Thread partner with the Digital Thread Factory, solution managers, and automotive and transportation industry marketing to align technical and commercial strategies

Automotive & Transportation Ecosystem & External Partnerships

  • Develop an ecosystem of external partnerships that enable key go-to-market and marketing strategies, including automotive industry associations, Siemens partners, tier suppliers, OEM networks, and universities focused on automotive and transportation innovation
  • Coordinate sales meetings and execution at automotive and transportation global events, conferences, and industry shows (e.g., CES, Detroit Auto Show, Tokyo Motor Show)
  • Coordinate Automotive and Transportation Industry Executive Council meetings in coordination with zone and country sales teams to drive strategic alignment and market leadership

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and automotive and transportation industry roles, with demonstrated success in OEM, tier-one supplier, or transportation solution environments
  • Deep understanding of automotive and transportation business, processes, market dynamics, and industry challenges; ideally matured working in the automotive and transportation industry in relevant roles such as product development, manufacturing, supply chain, or sales
  • Proven executive selling experience with demonstrated success closing complex automotive and transportation deals with C-suite stakeholders
  • Deep automotive and transportation industry and competitor-specific knowledge, including understanding of vehicle electrification, autonomous systems, manufacturing trends, and supply chain dynamics
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional automotive and transportation sales and marketing teams plus external partners in the automotive and transportation ecosystem
  • Effective communication, presentation, and executive presence skills with ability to engage automotive and transportation industry leaders
  • Strong project management and strategic planning skills with ability to execute multi-country automotive and transportation initiatives
  • Ability to travel 30-40% globally to support automotive and transportation customer engagements, industry events, and strategic initiatives

Preferred

  • MBA or industry-related post-baccalaureate certification in automotive engineering, supply chain management, or business
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives in automotive manufacturing and transportation
  • Familiarity with Siemens Digital Industries Software portfolio and automotive and transportation solutions (NX, Teamcenter, Tecnomatix, Xcelerator)
  • Track record of building and scaling automotive and transportation-specific go-to-market strategies
  • Experience with SaaS business models and cloud-based automotive and transportation manufacturing solutions
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations (ISO/TS 16949, IATF, ASPICE)
  • Experience with automotive supply chain networks and tier supplier ecosystems
