Overview
As the Application Support Engineering Manager for the HPCWorks portfolio, you lead an high calibre team of Engineers in EMEA who design, deploy, and orchestrate Europe's most complex high performance compute environments. You are responsible for the end-to-end services lifecycle—transforming raw infrastructure into high-performance solutions. You will oversee the integration of cloud bursting, telemetry, and workload orchestration for leaders in manufacturing, semiconductor design, meteorology, and genomic research.
Responsibilities
Strategic Services Design and Positioning: Lead the architectural design and implementation of services across the HPCWorks portfolio. You are responsible for positioning these services to deliver differentiated value and superior outcomes, ensuring a competitive edge within the EMEA HPC services market.
Vertical-Specific Solution Design (EDA, NWP, Life Sciences): Act as the lead architect for high-stakes vertical workloads. You will engineer optimized high-throughput scheduling for EDA, high performance workload / workflow management for Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP), manufacturing and Life Sciences markets.
Implementation & Services Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end deployment of the HPCWorks stack. You will ensure successful integration into enterprise-grade HPC infrastructures using contemporary delivery methodologies to drive operational efficiency and maximize service margins.
Deep-Tech Personnel Management: Manage all personnel activities for a team of 10+ Engineers. This includes hiring, training, and performance appraisals, while providing expert technical mentorship and exercising independent judgment to solve the most complex architectural challenges.
Executive Liaison & Product Influence: Distill complex technical outcomes, architectural milestones, and cloud-spend analytics into high-level executive presentations. You will serve as the primary feedback loop to development teams to influence the future HPCWorks product roadmap based on real-world service delivery insights.
Required Qualifications
*
Experience: experience in technical support management or professional services, specifically within the High-Performance Computing (HPC) domain.
*
Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with workload managers (Slurm, PBS Pro) and Linux-based high performance compute cluster environments on-prem or on the Cloud.
*
Leadership: Proven ability to manage team of 10+ technical staff in a fast-paced, deep-tech, global environment.
*
Communication: Exceptional ability to distill complex technical architecture, solution design, risks and escalations into clear, concise executive updates.
Preferred Skills (Atleast one of the domains)
*
EDA: Familiarity with license-centric high throughput scheduling and flow designs for semiconductor market.
*
Life Sciences: Understanding of bio-informatics pipelines, on-demand hybrid cloud HPC infrastrcutures and large-scale data management.
*
Manufacturing: Expertise in architecting environments for Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Simulation; experience with solvers and managing HPC requirements for CFD and FEA workloads.
*
Weather & Climate: Experience with mission critical weather and climate prediction frameworks.
