3DE WEB SERVICES DEVELOPER - USA/GLOBAL - 479928
Lebanon, NHWe are Siemens
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our software.
Do you want to work with cloud technologies and shape the transition of Siemens simulation products to SaaS model? We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our Technology Stack team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to development of a new micro services web architecture for Siemens simulation applications. Your work will involve development of mid-layer services in Rust to integrate with C++ frameworks in STAR-CCM+ server. If you're excited to work at the heart of simulation innovation and collaborate with global teams across STS, then apply today - we'd love to hear from you!
Please note that, due to the current integration framework, this opportunity is currently available exclusively to employees of Altair and DISW. While there is a possibility that the position may be made available to all Siemens employees through a future external posting, this is not guaranteed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transitional period. This communication does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment opportunities beyond the current scope.
You'll make a difference by:
* Develop Environment-Agnostic Software: Build robust solutions that operate seamlessly across on-premise and cloud platforms, supporting scalable deployment and performance.
* Support CFD Applications in the Cloud: Create services and integrations that enable Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) applications to function effectively in cloud-connected environments.
* Design Mid-Layer Service Applications: Architect and implement service-level applications that bridge front-end and back-end systems, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
* Feature Development: Collaborate with product management and internal partners to design and develop new features aligned with strategic initiatives and customer needs.
* API Development: Design and implement GraphQL APIs for front-end services and REST APIs for inter-service communication, ensuring secure and efficient data exchange.
* Secure Coding Practices: Write clean, secure, and resilient code that adheres to industry standards and supports long-term maintainability.
* Full Lifecycle Development: Guide features through the complete software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and design to implementation, testing, and validation.
* Quality Assurance & CI/CD: Participate in code reviews, maintain automated test coverage, and deploy services using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
* Cross-Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with developers, product managers, and other STAR-CCM+ development teams to ensure alignment and successful joint project execution.
Your success is grounded in:
* Strong proficiency in Rust (or C++), with familiarity in the latest language features and best practices.
* Ability to read and understand C++ and Java source code
* Experience designing and implementing GraphQL and RESTful APIs
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges.
* Proven experience working with large codebases and multi-repository applications, maintaining code quality and consistency across teams.
* Background in enterprise software development environments
* Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and deployment workflows.
* Familiarity with cloud computing environments, particularly AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
* Exposure to Cloud High-Performance Computing (HPC) is a plus
* A security-conscious mindset, with an understanding of secure coding practices, data protection, and compliance considerations.
