We are currently recruiting students for our Mexico Strategic Student Program. Our internship opportunities are designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience where they can apply their education to real business challenges, develop new capabilities and gain exposure to different teams, partners, customers and leaders.

About the Role

The Marketing & Events Intern will be an active member of the Mexico Marketing team, supporting the planning and execution of marketing programs across events, digital channels, communications, demand generation and partner activities.

The person joining the team will have ownership of specific activities and projects and will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Channel Partners, vendors and other internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable communicating with different audiences and willing to take ownership from planning through execution and follow-up.

Previous professional experience is not required. However, we are looking for students who can demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, teamwork and ownership through academic projects, student organizations, competitions, volunteering, entrepreneurship, events or other relevant experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Events & Experiences

Support the end-to-end planning and execution of in-person and digital events, including customer events, webinars, seminars, conferences, partner activities and other marketing experiences.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Support event planning, timelines, logistics and coordination from initial concept through execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, venues, speakers, partners and sponsors.
  • Support vendor communication, quotations, deliverables and execution requirements.
  • Develop and maintain event timelines, checklists and run-of-show documents.
  • Support on-site execution and ensure activities, suppliers and deliverables are coordinated according to plan.
  • Support virtual and digital event execution when applicable.
  • Coordinate event communications, including Save the Dates, invitations, reminders, teasers and follow-up communications.
  • Support registration processes and registration pages.
  • Collect attendee feedback through post-event surveys and other feedback mechanisms.
  • Review event results, participant feedback and generated opportunities to identify learnings and opportunities for future optimization.
  • Prepare event recaps and communicate key results and insights to relevant stakeholders.

Digital Marketing & Social Media

Support and help execute the digital and social media strategy for the Mexico organization, with particular focus on LinkedIn and other relevant digital channels.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Support the development and execution of the LinkedIn content calendar.
  • Identify relevant company, customer, partner and industry content that can be amplified through our channels.
  • Create and adapt social media assets and copy.
  • Publish events, company updates, relevant news and marketing content.
  • Monitor engagement and incoming interactions and ensure appropriate follow-up when needed.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry trends, news and conversations to identify potential content opportunities.
  • Track channel performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement and content effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify stories, activities and business priorities that should be communicated through digital channels.

Marketing Programs & Campaign Execution

Support the execution of marketing programs aligned with business priorities for both the Direct Sales and Channel organizations.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales and Channel teams to understand business priorities and translate them into marketing activities.
  • Support demand generation and communication campaigns throughout their execution.
  • Coordinate activities with partners and follow up on agreed marketing initiatives and deliverables.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of marketing execution best practices.
  • Help coordinate multiple marketing activities simultaneously while maintaining visibility of timelines, stakeholders and deliverables.
  • Support campaign execution and follow-up, including reviewing results and identifying potential optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure activities remain aligned with current business priorities.

Content & Marketing Asset Development

Support the creation, adaptation and execution of marketing and communication materials across different channels.

This may include:

  • Flyers and digital invitations
  • Email communications and email campaigns
  • Social media assets
  • Videos and short-form content
  • Event teasers
  • Save the Dates
  • Posters and event signage
  • Presentations
  • Registration pages
  • Landing pages
  • Web content
  • Other digital and physical marketing materials

The candidate is not expected to be an expert in every design or marketing platform. However, basic experience with creative tools and, more importantly, the ability and willingness to quickly learn new platforms and technologies are important for the role.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Take ownership of assigned activities and follow them through completion.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and proactively follow up on pending actions and deliverables.
  • Communicate risks, challenges or delays early and propose potential solutions.
  • Participate actively in meetings and contribute ideas and recommendations.
  • Communicate and present information to different audiences, which may include vendors, partners, customers, Sales teams, Marketing teams and senior leadership.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ask questions and seek the information or resources necessary to move projects forward rather than waiting for detailed instructions at every step.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a student with energy, curiosity, initiative and a strong willingness to learn. Because this role involves significant interaction with people and ownership of projects, communication skills and professional confidence are particularly important.

The ideal candidate demonstrates:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence communicating with different audiences and levels of seniority.
  • An outgoing and collaborative personality, comfortable approaching and interacting with new people.
  • Proactivity and initiative — someone who looks for the next step rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Ownership and accountability, with the ability to take responsibility for an activity from beginning to end.
  • An action-oriented mindset and willingness to make things happen.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to react constructively when plans change or challenges arise.
  • Decision-making ability and good judgment, appropriate to their level of responsibility.
  • The confidence to speak up, ask questions, challenge when appropriate and communicate when support is needed.
  • A willingness to go beyond the immediate task, identify additional needs and propose ideas or improvements.
  • Strong organization, prioritization and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to receive feedback and direction while maintaining sufficient autonomy to move work forward.
  • Curiosity and a fast-learning mindset, particularly when exposed to unfamiliar tools, processes or topics.
  • Attention to detail without losing sight of the overall objective.
  • Creativity and interest in marketing, communications, events and digital channels.

Requirements

  • Active university student in the final two or three semesters of their degree.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, Digital Media or a related field.
  • Availability to work half-time.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
  • Based in or able to work under a hybrid model in Mexico City.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, graphic design, content creation and digital marketing tools.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar creative platforms is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of video editing, image editing or content creation is desirable.
  • Familiarity with website, CMS, landing-page or email-marketing platforms is desirable.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft PowerPoint and other productivity tools.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new tools, platforms and processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

Experience We Value

Previous professional experience is not required.

Instead, we encourage candidates to share examples from university or extracurricular experiences where they have:

  • Led or coordinated a complex team project.
  • Organized an event, competition, conference, student initiative or similar activity.
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders toward a common deadline.
  • Solved a conflict or unexpected problem within a team.
  • Taken responsibility for a project when there was no predefined solution.
  • Presented in front of professors, executives, external judges, companies or large audiences.
  • Taken leadership roles in student organizations, volunteering, entrepreneurship or extracurricular initiatives.
  • Identified something that needed to be done and took action without being asked.

We are less interested in the title of the experience and more interested in what the candidate personally did, how they approached the challenge and what result they achieved.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

A successful Marketing & Events Intern is someone who can receive an objective, understand what needs to happen, ask the right questions and progressively take ownership of getting it done.

We are looking for someone who does not stop at "I completed the task", but instead asks "Did we achieve what we needed, and what else can I do to make it better?"

This internship provides meaningful exposure to real marketing initiatives and the opportunity to collaborate with Sales, Channel Partners, customers, vendors and leadership while developing the skills required for a future career in marketing.

  • Potential for full-time opportunities after university graduation and successful completion of the program
