Product Strategy & Technology (PS&T)
SI/PI Analysis Workflow Engineer Intern
The Siemens HyperLynx product family is the world's most widely-used tool for board PCB-level signal and power integrity analysis, helping today's designers meet the challenging demands of next-generation cloud computing and artificial intelligence applications. HyperLynx lets designers model and optimize designs that operate at speeds exceeding 56 Gb/s and consuming hundreds to thousands of watts of power.
Our Product Strategy & Technology (PS&T) group is responsible for driving software product definition and developing workflows that automate complex simulation tasks. These workflows involve multiple modeling and analysis stages, then collect and post-processing data to present it an a readily comprehensible format. Modeling and analyzing a system can generate 10's of GB's of data; all of which must often be condensed down into a single chart to provide an overview of system behavior.
As an intern in the PS&T group, you will be involved in testing and developing scripting to automate analysis flows and post-process data from signal and power integrity analysis. This may include:
* Identifying a PCB design problem to be solved or a behavior to be analyzed
* Putting together a process to perform that task, using the HyperLynx product family.
* This may involve defining a new flow, testing & refining an existing flow, or packaging / documenting existing flows for customer use.
* Mining data from simulation reports and presenting it in a graphical format
* Analyzing mined data to identify design trends and dependencies
Organization Requirements:
* Studying for a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
* Upper classman is strongly preferred (with prior co-op experience)
* Some experience with electronic simulation tools (SPICE, 3D EM modeling, signal or power integrity analysis)
* Basic understanding of signal and power integrity concepts is highly desirable.
* Strong coding skills in Python or MATLAB
* Experience writing and parsing HTML syntax
* Proactive, able to work independently, disciplined, with strong trouble shooting skills
