Baseline Program Requirements:
* Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited university

Position Overview:
As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Software Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to challenging technical problems while developing expertise in high-performance computing technologies. You will have the opportunity to design, develop, modify, and implement software solutions for high-scale, enterprise-grade HPC products. You will learn and practice development approaches that ensure the highest possible quality and performance on all required platforms. You will also create automated tests of these solutions to prove their effectiveness, reliability, and performance using the pytest automated testing framework.
Key Responsibilities:
While you will work with general supervision on complex projects and have the opportunity to partner with senior engineers, it will also be important to act with independent judgment when necessary.
Potential projects involve, but are not limited to, the following technologies:
* Client/server architecture component development using C++
* Web services (REST, GraphQL) development using C++
* Scripting language API (Python, Tcl, etc.) development using C/C++
* Kubernetes and container-based deployment vehicles
* Agentic AI development
The following will apply to all projects:
* Follow the Agile software development methodology
* Assist in maintaining and improving existing software solutions by analyzing, planning, and implementing fixes for reported problems
* Leverage various tools and techniques to perform debugging and performance analysis of both existing and newly developed software solutions
* Participate in team activities and discussions
Requirements:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
* Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
* A solid foundation in object-oriented programming (C++ is required, Python is a plus)
* Passionate, driven, and proactive
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Effective organizational and time management skills
* Desire to continuously improve and learn about new areas
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location, as well as degree type and relevant education.
