The DVT team is looking for a summer intern to work as a DevOps Engineer.

The SSP is our formal internship programs at SIEMENS Software. You will be mentored by guides and work directly with costumers to create direct business impact and again invaluable professional experience!
The program is a 2 months summer internship (July & August) 2025. There will be opportunity to learn and contribute in a variety of areas of the software development process, with emphasis on a number of achievable projects to both encourage your development and deliver something useful.
Main responsibilities:
- Learning to work in a real environment, including workflows, code reviews, bug tracking system, source control management and interacting with other team members.
- Working on one or more of DevOps technologies like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Docker, k8s, …etc. Examples of projects include:
- Migrating Jenkins jobs from using Perl/Shell/Python scripts to use pipelines and shared libraries.
- Help in setting up new Docker images.
- Working with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus to facilitate data-driven decision making.
- Migration of services to the team's K8's cluster.
- Getting introduced to infrastructure basics (grids, license servers, networks, etc...)
- Learning and practicing debugging and problem-solving to investigate, isolate and remedy hardware and software defects.
- Presenting the internship tasks and project(s) worked on to the software team.
Qualifications:
- 3rd and 4rth undergraduate students of Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant field.
- Good knowledge of software development concepts and processes.
- Previous experience working on Linux operating system.
- Good knowledge of DevOps processes and standards
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Team player and willing to collaborate within a team environment.
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
