About the role:
The selected candidate will be an integral member of the Pipeline Operations team, improve build performance through strategic tool chain enhancements and modernization while taking on an integral role in modernizing our build pipelines. This role emphasizes Build & Dependency Management and requires understanding of how compilers, linkers, and scripts work together to create executable code. A lack of hands-on experience in these areas can be offset by a strong desire to learn, grow, and develop expertise quickly.
What you'll be doing:
• Build and operate advanced build pipelines with an emphasis on effective dependency management, ensuring that modern build and deployment practices are rigorously applied
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve build failures efficiently
• Utilize and enhance automated tools to streamline the integration build process
• Drive initiatives with the Pipeline Operations team to reduce overhead and develop a more efficient, maintainable, and modular build system
• Apply analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot issues spanning build systems, compilers, linkers, and make scripts
• Develop, operate, and continuously improve build pipelines focused on Build & Dependency Management
• Bring a strong analytical mindset to understand how various tools (compilers, linkers, make scripts) are orchestrated in the build process
• Manage the build system, including refactoring, addressing bugs, and optimizing the build process
• Work on revamping the build system to create a more modular and robust build pipeline
What you'll bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent training and experience)
• Strong understanding of automated build tools
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve build failures
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Deployment processes
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Batch scripting
• Knowledge of Java, Groovy, or C++ is a plus
• Knowledge of build tools and underlying build processes is highly desirable
• Experience with Build & Dependency Management, specifically understanding how compilers, linkers, and make scripts interact, is a significant advantage (candidates lacking direct experience in this area but with a strong willingness to learn will also be considered)
