Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. This role is ideal for a candidate with 1-3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering, and a strong interest in automation, deployment pipelines, and cloud operations.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, along with a good understanding of CI/CD practices, system reliability, and cloud infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and infrastructure automation
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve deployment processes, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Monitor cloud environments and help ensure system reliability, security, and performance
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency and consistency
• Support troubleshooting of infrastructure, deployment, and environment-related issues
• Participate in managing cloud resources, networking, permissions, and environment configurations
• Contribute to documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures
• Follow DevOps best practices for release management, automation, monitoring, and incident response
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, system administration, or a related role
• Hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
• Familiarity with other IaC tools such as CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar
• Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar
• Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting
• Familiarity with Git and version control best practices
• Basic understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM, and system monitoring
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker
• Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack
• Exposure to security best practices in cloud environments
• Experience working in Agile or cross-functional engineering teams
