Position Overview

As an Application Engineer, you'll drive the adoption of Siemens EDA Custom IC (CIC) circuit design and simulation technologies with a focus on Solido products—the world's leading tools for variation-aware design and characterization of standard cell, memory, and analog/RF designs. You'll combine deep technical expertise in circuit design, verification, and applications knowledge (transceivers, RFIC, high-speed I/O, and signal conditioning) with exceptional communication and team leadership skills. You'll manage multiple customer engagements concurrently, building strong relationships at both engineering and management levels. This role requires you to align with Account Managers to exceed quota, proactively manage customer accounts to success, and collaborate across sales, marketing, and R&D to deliver solutions that drive revenue. You must be prepared to travel at least 25% to support multiple accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Execute pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities, including assessing how our products meet customer needs and preparing product specifications for customized applications and solutions
Illustrate the value Siemens EDA brings to customers by conducting product evaluations, developing and delivering software demonstrations and technical presentations, and performing benchmark evaluations
Provide on-site support when issues arise with clients' use of Siemens EDA CIC products
Work closely with area sales management, account teams, and customers to identify and capitalize on business opportunities
Drive business growth using technical expertise and working directly with customers as part of the sales team at the appropriate management level to establish criteria for successful engagements
Assist technical teams and R&D to establish product value and differentiate from competition
Contribute to the area technical sales plan with management and communicate frequently with peers and management on progress and account status
Establish and maintain communication with design engineering on product reliability considerations
Work with R&D, marketing, and product managers to define new products and provide field insights to inform product development

Qualifications

Broad understanding of analog design methodologies and flows, including different types of analysis solutions such as SPICE, Fast-SPICE, and mixed-signal analyses
Proven ability to map simulator capabilities to application-specific requirements
Track record of building and maintaining exceptional customer relationships
Experience with IC schematic and layout tools such as Siemens EDA Pyxis/S-Edit, L-Edit, Cadence Virtuoso, or Synopsys Custom Compiler
Experience with analog simulators such as Spectre, HSPICE, Siemens EDA Eldo & AFS, and mixed-signal circuit simulation tools such as Cadence AMS Designer
Working familiarity with Unix and Linux operating systems, and previous experience with scripting or C programming

Our Benefits & Rewards

The total cash compensation range for this position is USD 49,900 to USD 109,800 with 20% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target (100% achievement). The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
