Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Fremont, CA is $166,878.00-247,300.00 per year and this role may be eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Develop test and verification methodologies for products for emulation and prototyping hardware through NPI and production phases in the fields of mechanical assembly, functional test and debugging. Work closely with contract manufacturers and repair partners. Track, measure and report test results for production builds and field returns. Work closely with design engineering teams to make recommendations for mechanical design and test coverage and for method improvements. Collaborate with electrical and firmware engineering teams during new product bring-up to understand product performance and test metrics to transition to a factory environment. Conduct detailed PCBA and mechanical product failure analysis at board and system levels to drive issues to resolution. Drive closure on potential test gaps and correlations between failures in field and factory. create detailed test cases and test automation programs for efficient testing products in factory using shell, Python and Perl. Maintain factory test and network infrastructure to support high volume production for local and overseas contract manufacturers. Document Acceptance Test Process (ATP) and functional specs for product validation of electrical and mechanical subsystems. Analyze test logs, results, and procedures for production quality improvement. Develop and maintain automation applications/tools to support hardware functional test in Linux environment. Resolve hardware issues maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and efficient. Measure the performance of mechanical components and improve system reliability through the resources available. Develop mechanical product structure, including detailed steps for mechanical assembly, to include assemblies and sub-systems. Validate and optimize the feasibility of system level mechanical assembly process for factory and field teams. Work closely with software team for firmware/hardware integration. Assess hardware mechanical failures. Provide demonstrations of the mechanical systems to both technical and non-technical personnel. Recommend and implement methods of mechanical improvements for the customer experience. Analyze test logs, results, and procedures for production quality improvement. Ensure compliance with approved production methods and quality standards.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a Test Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
1. Handling data center Emulation and Prototyping enterprise products in Linux environment;
2. Working with networking fundamentals in PCIe, Ethernet, and TCP/IP;
3. Utilizing common lab equipment such as: Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, DMMs, or Logic Analyzers;
4. Scripting in Python, PERL and bash Shell;
5. Working with 3 phase and Single-phase electrical power systems, network, and server configurations to configure system hardware per specifications;
6. Working with design mechanical test fixtures for prototype testing using AutoCAD or Solidworks tools;
7. Develop automated test and quality reports using SQL and .Net.
10% domestic and international travel is required. [On-site role]
