Job Profile/Position Overview
The Portfolio Development role reports through the Siemens DI SW Americas organization and is responsible to drive new business attainment for the Siemens Teamcenter/Design suite of solutions in the Industrial Machinery market segment.
The Portfolio Developer will be responsible to successfully drive market growth as evidenced by pipeline development, new business attainment and overall market growth for these industries. The role requires coordination with multiple resources within the company (Account Development, Account Orchestrators, Inside Sales, Sales Management, Channel Partners, Technical Specialists and others) to develop sales strategy and tactics as well as drive execution in customer facing engagements.
There is an emphasis on demonstrating business value to our customers using a Digital Twin / Digital Thread approach in which business process and integration of solutions across different portfolios (e.g., PLM, Design, Simulation, Manufacturing, …) are discussed and demonstrated. The successful Portfolio Developer requires proven industry knowledge, strong business acumen, strong knowledge and experience in leveraging the software subscription model to drive new business and familiarity with a wide range of solutions used by customers to achieve business goals.
Responsibilities/Tasks
Specific tasks and responsibilities of this role include:
- · Develop business plans that sub-segment the market, identify business trends, define initiatives and identify specific accounts to target in developing pipeline and business
- · Use SFDC and other tools to understand the overall business picture of the assigned industry (pipeline, ARR/revenue attainment, forecast) and adjust the business plan as necessary during the fiscal year
- · Work with the broader sales team to assist in developing account plans to drive business in specific accounts in conjunction with the overall business plan
- · Plan, coordinate and execute on a variety of tactics including social media, webinars, seminars, user group meetings, customer workshops, email campaigns, etc. to drive customer meetings and develop new business sales opportunities
- · Work with a variety of resources including technical specialists to conduct customer meetings and progress opportunities through the sales cycle
- · Understand, leverage and share experiences and strategies in using the Digital Thread approach to drive team success across the Siemens DI SW enterprise
Minimum Requirements
- · At least 5+ years current experience in software sales, software business development, software technical pre-sales or strong industry experience with a strong, proven grasp of technology/solutions
- · Must currently reside in the USA, and not be in need of sponsorship. This is a firm requirement.
- · Must have experience with Teamcenter (or other PLM software) and Design software. Industry experience in the Industrial Machinery market is preferred
- · Bachelor’s degree or at least 8+ years of experience in software sales, technical presales.
- · Strong quota attainment
- Familiarity in the use of desktop solutions such as Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint and other job-related software packages
- Excellent public speaking skills complemented by exceptional written and oral skills as well as strong organizational abilities
- Proven ability to independently formulate, understand and articulate customer needs and solution strategies
- Candidate must be able to travel up to 40%
- Must currently reside in the continental United States; working remotely an option

The total cash compensation range for this position is $164,200 to $328,400 with 30% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
